One last whim to end 2024 in style. After releasing the new album in May Gringo Vol. 1and while waiting to listen to Volume 2 of this work, Selton have closed a twenty-year circle and arrived at the historic Abbey Road Studios in London to record a new song, Smoking Too Muchan inspirational song Beatlesian which will be released at midnight today.
Just twenty years ago, in fact, the three Seltons – Ramiro, Daniel and Eduardo – left Porto Alegre for Barcelona, where they formed the band and started performing by playing Beatles covers. So the three, after settling in Milan and becoming the band we now know, managed to realize their dream of recording at Abbey Road Studios. Joining them in the recording session were a parterre of musicians and friends who joined for the occasion: Alessandro di Sciullo (guitar), Pietro Selvini (saxophone, flute and backing vocals), Gavin Dean (Hammond organ), Ricky Damian (mellotron , moog).
The Seltons say: «This song represents the realization of a dream for those of us who loved the Beatles so much. Smoking Too Much it was just waiting for the right moment to take shape, in the most extraordinary way possible. It's now the tenth track of Gringo Vol. 1».
