Amy MacDonald arrived in Italy with a single appointment on Tuesday 17 February 2026 at the Fabrique in Milan. The Scottish composer who has sold 12 million records, also announces her new album “Is This What You've Been Waiting For?”, out July 11th via BMG.
Amy Macdonald's gift for creating inspiring songs from stories of positive experiences, struggle and hope has made her one of the UK's best-loved artists. This talent has attracted huge audiences, resulting in five albums reaching the Top 5 across Europe (including a #1 in the UK and two in Germany), with over 12 million sales, 12 international platinum certifications and over one billion streams. He's always a big draw live too, having played for more than 5 million people around the world.
Now Amy enters a new chapter with the release of her sixth album, “Is This What You've Been Waiting For?”, on July 11 via BMG. The artist launches the album alongside the title track, and also confirms details of a major UK and European tour, including a big Glasgow arena date at OVO Hydro.

Amy will prepare for the album's release with a series of major festivals, including the Isle of Wight and Neighborhood Weekender, as well as further shows in Germany and Switzerland.
Is This What You've Been Waiting For?” is a bold new collection of songs that will remind the world why they fell in love with her. Amy doesn't hold back in songs full of cathartic release and escapist energy. With her unstoppable spirit, the topics she explores come from experience, both firsthand and witnessing the struggles of others, ranging from toxic friendships, to feeling trapped in relationships, to the courage to break away from the pressures of social expectations. Survival and the idea of moving forward prove to be powerful guiding principles of the album. There's also an appreciation for the fans, whose dedicated and enduring support makes all of this possible.
The stirring title track introduces the record with a pulsating beat and dramatic cymbal crash, as Amy lets out an euphoric cry of alarm. It's a song that truly captures the electrifying power of a live show and the connection he feels when he plays his music to an enraptured crowd. It's also a release from the constant demands of the industry.
The single was produced by Nicolas Rebscher (AURORA, Louis Tomlinson), who shares the album's production with Grammy winner Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys).
