The things left unsaid, Mahmoodlyrics and meaning of the new single. January 16th marks an important date for the artistic journey of Mahmood. The singer-songwriter, fresh from a record-breaking 2025, tries his hand at writing an original song for the cinema for the first time: The things left unsaid.
The song, which bears the same title as the new film by Gabriele Muccino (in theaters from January 29th), is a truly unreleased single produced and directed by Paolo Buonvino. The track already accompanies the images of the official trailer, bringing the unique musical identity of Mahmood within an intense cinematic narrative.
A debut on the big screen
It's the first time Mahmood lends his voice and writing to an original soundtrack. The song, out for Island/Universal Musicis part of a work based on the novel Syracuse by Delia Ephron. The cast of the film is stellar and features protagonists Stefano Accorsi, Miriam Leone, Claudio Santamaria And Carolina Crescentini.
This collaboration combines the vision of one of the most beloved directors of Italian cinema with Mahmood's ability to narrate contemporaneity through refined urban and pop sounds.

TEXT – MAHMOOD – THINGS NOT SAID
That kiss on the mouth
Like the things we will never do again
like asking “how are you?”
I would hate you forever
lost among the things left unsaid
