There is great anticipation for all fans of Friends regarding the release of the first real recording project of Niveo. In fact, the EP will be released on June 30th on all streaming platforms, in physical stores and online stores Scribbles. The recording project of the young and promising artist will be the touching story of the insecurities and fragility of a boy who has found his safe space in music.
Speaking of his first real recording effort, Niveo (real name Marco Fasano, born in 2002), said:
I’m Niveo and I was a child like many others until, at the age of 17, I felt the need to share my moods to feel less alone. One day I started scribbling on a piece of paper all my insecurities, my fears but also my moments of joy and light-heartedness. I didn’t know yet that what I was confusingly giving shape to would be my first EP, “Scarabocchi” to be precise.
The story of the album, track by track
On the EP Niveo he worked together with the artistic producer, Fabio Zinimanaging to unite in the same project both “whispered” pieces and pieces born from a real discharge of liberating energy, almost as if they were an instinctive scream.
The project was born first of all from the song Cloudssong born during the quarantine that closes the EP and collects the story of a “little boy with white hair”, always poised between fear of the future and nostalgia for the past. To open the EP is though Step by step, a piece that reflects a personal experience lived by the artist, that of a toxic relationship he lived “unknowingly” at the age of 19. We then continue with the unedited Mania, an “almost ethereal” piece that tells of his awareness of being a sub-sub in relationships. The third song is On the subway seats, composed thinking of all the love and hate writings found on the seats of public transport. There is then I do not feel likewhich dispels the paranoia of the previous pieces and infuses the listener with a little positivity: the song speaks of the feeling of euphoria and thrill that love gives, a feeling that makes us feel as if we were the protagonists of a novel: precisely because of its lively mood, it is the piece chosen as the single to launch the disc.
The title track Scribbles was born on a December night. About the genesis of the piece Niveo says:
I was 17. I had the urge to write a song but I couldn’t. My parents slept in the next room. So I found myself composing in a low voice and, absurdly, one of those songs to scream out loud was born. I am very attached to this piece. In fact, this song allowed me to make myself known, first in the streets of Lucca, then in Amici.
Finally, the penultimate piece is I’m not getting you out of my heada song that tells of the risks of falling in love during the summer, since often between a dip in the sea and an aperitif we meet people who then disappear from our lives, leaving us with a sense of nostalgia that is difficult to shake off.
