The host said her decision to step away after seven seasons “feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives”
Kelly Clarkson has announced that her talk show will conclude after its seventh and current season.
In a statement posted to social media, Clarkson acknowledged her team at The Kelly Clarkson Showwriting that she was “forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for.” She also thanked guests on the show who “shared their time and lives” and the fans for their support.
Clarkson continued, saying that her decision to step away from the show's daily schedule will allow her “to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
“This isn't goodbye,” she added, hinting at future projects: 'l'll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time…you never know where I might show up next.” Clarkson ended her message by saying, “I want to thank y'all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
Her announcement arrives after the death Brandon Blackstock, her ex-husband and former manager, as well as the father to her two children. Blackstock died on Aug. 7, 2025, at the age of 48 from skin cancer.
The Kelly Clarkson Show debuted in 2019 and has since won 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and four for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.
When opening The Kelly Clarkson Show's Season Seven premiere with a Kellyoke cover of The Weeknd's “Blinding Lights,” the host called it the “perfect song to kick us off.” She continued, “Light has been a constant theme for us on this show since the beginning. We've seen a lot in the past six years, and sometimes the world can be very heavy. But I've always said, my favorite part of doing this job, and I stand by it, is finding the light and shining it on people are really trying to make a difference and just trying to make the world a better place.”
