My country is fucking with crying, struggles
How many are in the cold tonight
I see it in the electoral programs
In the canvas programs
In the daily deceptions, I see it, man
And just open a newspaper
To notice how much dirty there is on the boot
The idea behind “The Jazzness” is simple: nine songs by Fabiano “Inoki” Ballarin, who had lost a bit over time they are re -proposed in a jazz key, inspired by a little in Guru and its historic “Jazzmatazz”. The rapper said it was no longer possible to perform them live, the beat for i liveand therefore solved it like this, rereading them as more collected and night songs, in which to rattle off the texts with greater intensity.
Inoki is an expert, already active at the end of the millennium with the massive portion Crew together with his friend Joe Cassano and then owner of a long solo career, especially as an independent but also with a significant passage in major.
It is an opportunity to look closely to the texts, reconstruct together a way of understanding the rap where the message is still central, as in the initial “my country cares about 2025”: a piano and double to dominate the arrangement, while each sentence acquires more weight thanks to a Delivery more blunt and measured.
Often the result is close to an idea of traditional ninety jazz-rap (“old neighborhood 2025”, “road dust 2025”), while pointing to intimism other songs (“start from zero 2025” and “Immortali 2025” feat. Zibba), strong of more emotional texts, but also the stories of street life “I saw 2025” and “low profile 2025”; Discard towards a more lively rhythm “taken well 2025”.
The result is deeply renewed the “Medioego 2025” renewal (feat. Mefisto Brass), with muscle brass.
Delicate guitar interventions, measured rhythmic strengthening and rare attention to dynamics give an organic quality to these songs, far more than ever from the robotic-mechanical aesthetic of so much trap, drin, rage And the like. It is music to listen to carefully, patience, slowness. And enjoy live, maybe in a small jazz club.
