On Friday evening, Mariah Carey was awarded Person of the Year at MusicCares 2026, an event but also a tribute concert to the woman with the most number ones in the American charts staged at the Los Angeles Convention Center during the Grammy Week celebrations. During the evening many artists sang a song by Mariah, and on stage we saw Kesha, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Flo, Laufey and even Dave Grohl and co.
Pat Smear was also there, who after overcoming his broken foot wanted to be present to pay homage to an artist of whom he has always declared himself a fan. And if everyone else sang a hit from the Diva's repertoire, how Honey or Always Be My BabyThe Foos enlisted singer and actress Taylor Momsen to perform two songs from their unreleased '90s grunge album Someone's Ugly Daughtera record by the alt rock band Chick actually written and sung by Mariah Carey. The album was then recorded by Chick and if you pay more attention you will be able to hear MC in some choirs. And while waiting for the album with Mariah's vocals to be released, the Foo Fighters have raised the hype a bit by playing the songs Hermit And Love Is a Scam. The videos:
