We were invited to the concert of Viscardi toArci Biko and, first of all, it was a beautiful and pleasant evening. Of those that don't need great effects to work because they rely on the atmosphere, on relationships, on an idea of music that can still be listened to.
He opened the live show Davide De Luca. A short set, but anything but ancillary: very interesting lyrics, a non-trivial sound and the feeling of being faced with something worth following. Lecce Townin particular, won me over. Worth keeping an eye on.
Side note, but not too much: in this historical moment the ARCI they are among the very few spaces that are still trying to do real work on live music. The audio systems could use an update (some small sound problems were heard), but the fundamental point remains: thank goodness that places like this still exist.
The Biko it's a living room. A place that puts the artist in a position to feel free. Viscardi he lives it all. The emotion for the sold out event in Milan is evident, also because he knows perfectly well that it is not a given. Milan is never like that, especially when you come from a talent show and you have to demonstrate that the public hasn't stopped watching television.
On stage he lets his soul be seen without unnecessary constructions. He is present, excited, and above all generous in sharing the stage. Maybe even more than necessary, but it is a generosity that speaks well of the moment he is going through. Give space to friends, before and during the concert.
Some might read it as an excess but we are at the beginning of a journey and, in this context, it fits.
It is a choice that speaks more of sharing than of insecurity.
For those who, like me, have followed his entire journey to X Factor the duets were one of the most tender moments of the evening. PierC, Rob, Layana, Amanda, EroCaddeo and Michelle they were there not to steal the show, but to truly support him.
With Michelle on En and Xanax, Mayu on Cheyenne, Rob on I hear you, Amanda and Layana on Loving you, Pier C on All I Ask and EroCaddeo on Still, a simple but not obvious thing emerged forcefully: what extraordinary voices everyone has, without exception. Listen to them outside the television context, in a small room like the Bikogave these songs a more intimate dimension, where the vibrations of a real and profound friendship were clearly perceived.

The stage, in those moments, became truly shared: no interruptions, no parentheses, but a natural dialogue with the path of Viscardi.

The four central songs of the EP My Lady, I admired it again, Core 'n jail And Toy Boy they hold the backbone of the concert and define its identity, but around this nucleus Viscardi builds a much broader live show, which goes beyond the EP and beyond the debut.
The moments linked to X Factor instead they come in two different forms: on the one hand the covers Chillo is a good boy, The sky in a room And Purple Rainalready sung during the program and returned with an intimate and vibrant form; on the other, the songs of the other competitors, filmed together with them on stage, which become a gesture of sharing rather than a reminder of what happened in the program.
The result is a setlist that doesn't seek an easy effect, but tells of an identity under construction, with the feeling that the concert is already a step forward.
Applause must also be given to the band, who supported the live performance with attention and measure, without ever dominating the voice but giving it space and breathing space. Alfonso Marra on keyboards, Giada De Prisco on the guitar, Antonio De Prisco to the battery e Giovanni Galdo on bass they built an essential but present sound, capable of accompanying the songs without stiffening them. A silent but fundamental job, which contributed to making the concert compact and credible.
In the end, what remains is the unique and very particular voice of Viscardi. Live it comes in without having to turn up the volume or look for the effect. You want to listen to it sitting at a table, sipping a cocktail, letting the songs do their work. It's a great start, a good attitude, and the clear feeling that in the future there will be concerts where we can enjoy his voice even more and better.
There is also another element that runs through the whole concert and that is the way Viscardi speaks of freedom and redemption, always starting from oneself. Not as a slogan, but as a personal stance. It's a discussion that comes from words, of course, but above all from the way he chooses to be on stage and build his live show. In this sense, the story is consistent with the music he wants to make: a music that doesn't look for shortcuts, that takes the time to tell an identity and return it without filters.
Maybe that's exactly the point. Not the urgency of arriving, but the time to stay within a path. A live show that doesn't rush, that also accepts some imperfections, that allows itself to be crossed by other voices without losing its own. Viscarditoday, it seems to move like this: carefully, with measure, without confusing the arrival with the journey.
There is space here to listen. And to wait for what's to come.
