Frank Ferrer, the drummer who recently separated from the Guns N 'Roses, expressed “gratitude” for the almost 20 years spent playing with the band, but also “disappointment for this chapter” of his working life.
The separation was announced last week by the band with a post in which Ferrer was thanked for “friendship, creativity, solidity shown in the last 19 years. We wish him to be successful in the next chapter of his musical journey ».
Ferrer did not issue any official declaration, but he wrote about the incident on Instagram on the weekend: «The wave of affection I have received in the last 24 hours from fans of the Guns N 'Roses and my fellow musicians is enormous. I will always try immense gratitude and love for Axl and for the band and at the same time the disappointment for as it ended ».
The phrase suggests that the decision, whoever made it, was suffered. It is not clear why the streets of the Guns and Ferrer, the drummer who has played longer with the group (from June 2006 to the most recent tour of November 2023), have separated.
“It was 19 incredible years,” writes the drummer. «The Guns n 'Roses gave me memories and experiences that changed my life. A huge thanks to management, crew and fans for the memories that I will keep for life. I hope to see you all again soon! ».
The drummer chosen to replace Ferrer is Isaac Carpenter, who in the past has played among others with Awolnation, Perfect Circle and with Duff McKagan's band. “A name was made by combining in a unique way versatility and groove with strength and technique, consolidating the reputation of multifaceted drummer,” says a press release from the Guns.
