“Taylor’s Version” of the box office-dominating film features for the first time the entire concert, with “Cardigan” performance and four additional acoustic songs
After making box office history and dominating video-on-demand, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film will head to streaming in March.
Disney+ announced Wednesday it had acquired the “Taylor’s Version” of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, with the streaming service revealing the film will be shown in its entirety (i.e. with “Cardigan,” which was excluded from the theatrical release) for the first time.
As an added bonus, four extra acoustic tracks culled from the “Surprise Songs” portion of the Eras Tour shows will also feature in Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) when the movie arrives via Disney+ on March 15.
“This week is truly the best kind of chaos,” Swift — who just won Album of the Year, announced a new LP, and resumed her tour in Japan, all before heading to the Super Bowl this weekend — wrote on Instagram. “I’m thrilled to let you know I’ve found a streaming home for The Eras Tour Concert Film, and that home will be [Disney+]. For the first time we’ll be showing the entire concert (including “cardigan”, plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I’m calling it, huge shock, ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)’.”
“‘The Eras Tour’ has been a true phenomenon that has and continues to thrill fans around the world, and we are very excited to bring this electrifying concert to audiences wherever they are, exclusively on Disney+,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement.
