Tananai Rave eclipse album review by Umberto Saved.
“Without the lived experience of opposites, there can be no experience of wholeness.“
Ernst Junger
Often in life we find ourselves dealing with our many facets, the many parts that make us up, even extremely different from each other. In some moments or situations, places emerge within ourselves in total contrast with the rest, and the usual us. But if we wanted to arrange each piece of us discovered within a grid by emotional resemblance, perhaps we should divide everything in two and go slowly – slowly to analyze our way of doing and thinking and then bringing it back to one of the macrostructures.
And that is precisely the intent of Alberto Cotta Ramusinoin art Tananai, or at least these seem to be the intentions of his recording project. He wants to bring out his artistic and personal dichotomy, the two worlds that coexist and oppose each other in him, giving a name to these two sets, these two natures of his: one part is the rave and another part is the eclipse.
Tananai Rave Eclipse the review
It will be just the song RAVE, ECLIPSE, which also gives its name to the whole album, ninth in order, to tell us thanks to an arrangement that takes us back to the lullabies they sang to us as children, to oppose hate to love, so very different but so very similar for intensity and strength. There is the global hatred represented by thieves and terrorists and the love, this time personal, for raves and eclipses, for him who is the most human of men who admits that he has taken from artists only the passion for vices.
And if we have already included in the list of the most introspective parts of oneself RAVE, ECLIPSEleader of the most carefree part is LITTLE GABBER. Fun and amused, carefree and light-hearted in this song which is a bit of an exercise in ironic and playful style. He always acts a bit tough but in the end he misses her.
Then there are all the little things, the tiny details that have stolen his heart and made him fall in love with his love, up to dedicating this song to her and the words contained in BLACK SOY SAUCEromantically moderate in her own way, she’s a lucky fiancée.
When we talk about contrasts, if these are the years we live and share, we cannot help but tell what these days have in common: the great gap between appearing and being. Thanks to THOSE LIKE US, manages to give a beautiful anthem for our reckless generation that lives in the balance, not having yet understood it really is. A text full of freedom and solitude.
It seems to be born from the same matrix THE BEST YEARS, with different characteristics but with extremely common starting points. Try to tell the hardships of this period in which the new generations have been robbed of the essential moments that give the possibility to mature and grow. He is angry and takes it out on the critics on duty and with their hasty judgments, children of a different and certainly more fortunate era than ours.
Separate note for the most beautiful and successful song on the album. With ABYSMAL the singer-songwriter has looked inside himself between the sunsets and the dawns of that love that is about to end in which he is no longer able to give value to the things they have in common but only to what makes them different. This love is extinguished with the romance and sweetness, with the delicacy and nostalgia that this song can give.
When you embark on such a personal journey of discovering your duality as that of Albertsome would have aimed at sharing paths, instead those like him see the road in the only hero, obviously shared behind the scenes, but which in the practical act gives life to a single duet which is MINEFIELD with Ariespackaged in the best possible way and which sees in a communion of intents that leads to the most tender song of all.
We get to the end, and this album has told us so much about the artist Tananai but even more than man Albert crush Ramusino. Here is the rave, amidst the confusion and the amusement of crowds but there is also the extraordinary and disarming eclipse of amazement. There is a boy who feels infinitely alone and small compared to life which is so big.
