Co-anchor Colin Jost also mocked Trump’s bad lawyers: “Can you imagine spending $50 million on the people who just lost you $83.3 million?”
Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update took aim at the latest right-wing conspiracy theory, along with former President Donald Trump‘s hefty legal bills.
“As you may have seen on your aunt’s Facebook, many MAGA personalities are claiming that the Super Bowl is being rigged so Kansas City wins and Taylor Swift can come onto the field with Travis Kelce and endorse Joe Biden,” Colin Jost explained.
“Man, MAGA people have so many enemies to keep track of,” he continued, before rattling off a list that included Swift and “the NFL, Bud Light, Disney, Kristen Stewart (for some reason), electric stoves, windmills, the concept of rainbows, and the green M&M.”
Jost later turned to recent campaign filings which show Trump’s PACs shelled out $50 million for his legal bills last year.
“And that’s with the cheapest, worst lawyers on the planet. Can you imagine spending $50 million on the people who just lost you $83.3 million?” he joked, referring to the indicted former president’s massive defamation verdict last week.
“I mean, this lawyer did such a bad job in court,” Jost continued, as a picture of Alina Habba showed on screen, “that I thought her actual name was ‘Overruled Sitdown.’”
Habba, as well as Trump himself, was repeatedly scolded by the judge in the defamation case.
