The clash between the Osbourne family and Roger Waters continues even after Ozzy's death. In an interview with Piers Morgan UncensoredSharon revealed that she had seriously considered sending a box of excrement to the former Pink Floyd, especially after the offensive statements made by Waters a few days after the passing of the “Prince of Darkness”.
It all started from an intervention by Waters in the podcast The Independent Inkin which he dismissed Ozzy as an “idiotic” character, declaring that he had never had any interest in Black Sabbath or their music. His words had triggered the immediate reaction of his son Jack Osbourne on social media and, shortly afterwards, that of his wife Sharon, who in the podcast The Osbournes He had called Waters “irrelevant”, “without charisma” and “sick in the head”. And as a provocation, they recently put up for sale a t-shirt featuring Ozzy pissing on The Wall Live in Berlin.
Now Sharon adds: «He was great, but his greatness didn't last. He never managed to make great music on his own.” In the interview he also returns to the clothing worn by Waters in some concerts in 2023, considered ambiguous, and attacks him: «Five wives later, he hates anyone who is successful. He's completely out of his mind.”
And then he refers to the “Tiffany box”: Sharon has admitted in the past to having sent boxes of excrement to journalists and detractors. In this case, however, he decided to stop: «Even that would be a waste. Sending him shit is a waste, because it's so meaningless. And then I thought that whoever dies has a family.” Sharon finally hypothesized that Waters' words were aimed more at her than at Ozzy, suggesting possible anti-Semitic motivations, accusations that Waters has always rejected.
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at his home in Buckinghamshire, due to a heart attack, after years marked by Parkinson's and serious health problems. But 17 days had said goodbye to the public with the last concert of his career in Birmingham, an event which raised millions of pounds for charity.
