Lawyers for Sean “Diddy” Combs, currently under arrest and facing several serious charges including sexual assault and trafficking for sexual exploitation, have once again requested that their client be released on bail.
A first request was rejected in mid-September. For the judges there was the danger that he would flee, contaminate the evidence, repeat the crimes of which he is accused. A new request was filed yesterday. The previous one required the payment of 50 million dollars in bail. In the new report, the rapper and record producer's lawyers say their client will undergo weekly drug tests, see a select few people who are not considered accomplices and no women beyond family members and the mothers of his children.
The next hearing will be held on October 9. For a few days the so-called has no longer been active suicide watcha standard control measure for high-profile prisoners like the rapper, therefore not indicative of his state of mind which the lawyers define as very good and combative.
Meanwhile, a 12th person accused Diddy of violence. She is a model and entrepreneur from Florida whose name has not been revealed. According to the woman, between 2021 and 2022 Combs and his collaborators used “coercive and harassing language to force her to agree” to perform in private “shows” that involved the use of alcohol and drugs including ketamine. When she woke up, the woman found bruises and wounds “without being able to remember how she got them”.
Combs allegedly threatened her, had her followed, made her financially dependent on him, as well as recording their sexual encounters. Purpose: «To control their actions and autonomy, limit their freedom of speech through harassment, intimidation and other means». Once pregnant, she was allegedly threatened by Yung Miami, Combs' then-partner. She then had a miscarriage.
Finally, Combs could also be involved in the arson of Kid Cudi's Porsche which occurred in Los Angeles in January 2012. The fact was recounted in the documents filed by Diddy's first accuser, the ex Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura who in 2011 had had a relationship with Kid Cudi, stage name of Scott Mescudi.
While never mentioning Mescudi's name, the prosecution believes Combs was the instigator of the car fire that occurred in January 2012 using a Molotov cocktail. There are witnesses who say Combs bragged about it. Is this Kid Cudi's car or is it just a coincidence? Marc Agnifilo, Diddy's lawyer, says his client is not charged in the fire. “It is clear that the prosecution does not know who set the car on fire or how this is related to Combs, who denies any involvement.”
