Two School of Rock alumni, Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli, just got married, with their wedding doubling as a mini Horace Green prep reunion.
Hale and Massagli played singer Marta (a.k.a. “Blondie”) and security specialist Frankie (“Tough Guy”) in the 2003 comedy. As they previously told Inside Edition, they reconnected years after the movie, when Hale moved to Florida, where Massagli was living at the time. They began dating and eventually got engaged.
Their wedding took place recently at a hotel in New Jersey, and one of their School of Rock co-stars in attendance, Rivkah Reyes (who played bassist Katie) shared a video of the festivities on TikTok. Fittingly, the clip was set to Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen,” a song featured prominently in School of Rock.
Reyes’ clip showed many of the old castmembers — bride and groom obviously included — hitting the dance floor, sitting at a table together, and cramming into a photo booth for a big group picture. Among those in attendance were Brian Falduto (Billy, or “Fancy Pants”), Joey Gaydos Jr. (Zack, or “Zack-Attack”), Robert Tsai (Lawrence, or “Mr. Cool”), Maryam Hassan (Tomika, or “Turkey Sub”), Aleisha Allen (Alicia, or “Brace Face”), Cole Hawkins (Leonard, or “Short Stop”), Z Infante (Gordon, or “Roadrunner), and James Hosey (Marco, or “Carrot Top”).
The mini reunion at Hale and Massagli’s wedding comes not long after the cast celebrated the film’s 20th anniversary in 2023. That same year, many of them spoke with Rolling Stone for a massive oral history about the making of the film and its legacy. Hale recalled working with star Jack Black and director Richard Linklater, and how both helped the huge cast of kids feel as much a part of the movie-making process as the A-listers and lead creatives.
“Of course Jack was the funny one, but I remember Rick to be just so encouraging and so open to all of our ideas and really treating us as if we were collaborators in this,” she said. “We were part of it.”
