LILY, “SANTA ROSALIA”
In “Saint Rosalia“, Lily gives life to an explosion of colors and energy through an overwhelming rhythm with Mediterranean sounds and a hypnotic and sharp voice. Everything is accompanied by synths, Arabic melodies and the use of dialect between songs and prayers in a dystopian key.
The will of Lily is to firmly denounce a society hostile to any type of freedom: moral, sentimental and sexual.
In this regard, in fact, the singer-songwriter explains to us that: «Santa Rosalia is for me a hymn to freedom, to the courage to live and love freelyas we like it and makes us feel good, far from prejudices and moral superstructures that do nothing but limit our country”.
«Unfortunately we still live in a society in which sexual freedom seems to be inversely proportional to a person's degree of skill, an almost exclusively female issue» complaint Lily. «A sexually free girl is frowned upon, just as a woman who is a victim of rape often even ends up feeling guilty, judged primarily by how she was dressed or what her attitude towards the attacker was: all of this is shocking and unacceptable » he then adds.
So, “Saint Rosalia“, as she says Lilyis born: «from the need to remember and remind myself how much we women are worth, wonderful creatures who reach the peak of splendor when truly free, each in their own uniqueness, and to support all those who fight every day in defense of their rights, to live and love without distinction ».
