Yesterday there was the first episode of Sanremo Giovani 2024, the six-part talent show from which the singers who will participate in the Sanremo 2025 Festival in the New proposals category will emerge. It is hosted by Alessandro Cattelan, who in February will also take care of the DopoFestival and will be co-host of the final paired with Carlo Conti.
The Sanremo Giovani formula is one of the small innovations (in some ways a return to the past) introduced by Conti: young people (the maximum age has been lowered from 29 to 26 years) and big names will no longer be mixed as in previous years, but they will return to compete in separate categories. The winner of the New Proposals will then be announced at the Ariston during the festival on the evening of Friday 14 February 2025.
Out of 564 candidates, 24 competitors were chosen who will compete since yesterday in the weekly talent show Sanremo Giovani broadcast by Rai 2. After four elimination rounds, we will reach the semi-final on Tuesday 10 December in which the young people will go from 12 to 6. Finally, in the final on 18 December, which will be broadcast in prime time on Rai 1 live from the Sanremo Casino Theater with the double hosting of Carlo Conti and Alessandro Cattelan, the 6 semi-finalists and the 2 singers emerging from the parallel event called Area Sanremo will fight to be one of the four New proposals of Sanremo 2025.
Yesterday the first three two-person challenges were held, from which the top three semi-finalists emerged. I'm Tancredi (ex Friends) who sang Standing ovationMew (ex Friends) with Oh My God and Mazzariello with Loving each other for work. They beat Synergy, Sidy and Angie.
At Sanremo Giovani the songs are judged by the musical commission composed of Ema Stokholma, Carolina Rey, Manola Moslehi, Enrico Cremonesi, Daniele Battaglia and (not present in the studio) Carlo Conti and Claudio Fasulo, deputy director of the prime time entertainment department.
