RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! Untucked, which gives viewers an inside look into the live show, will premiere April 4
The creative team behind RuPaul‘s Drag Race World of Wonder announced Monday that the Las Vegas variety show will broadcast live this month in celebration of the 1,000th performance of “RuPaul’s Drag Race Live.” The special will feature former Drag Race stars and resident cast members like Season Seven runner-up Ginger Minj, Season 12 winner Jaida Essence Hall, and Asia O’Hara. Rupaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner Kylie Sonique Love, Morphine Love Dion, and Plane Jane will also join them, along with surprise guests.
“Our 1,000th performance confirms that ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!’ is a must-see experience worthy of Vegas’s iconic strip,” wrote World of Wonder co-founders and Drag Race producers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato. “It is a testament to the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent of the many queens who have both appeared on the TV show and dazzled audiences from the stage of the legendary Flamingo.”
“RuPaul’s Drag Race Live” opened in 2020 at the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel. It uses the competition TV series as a template for its scripted show, featuring choreographed ensembles, fake slaps, and a “Sync-O-Meter” for best lip syncs. The live show is produced by World of Wonder and drag show production company Voss Events. The broadcast will take place on March 15 at 9:30 p.m. PST, and will be available to watch on the streaming platform WOW Presents Plus.
RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! Untucked, which gives viewers a peek into the live show and its working drag queens, will premiere its second season on April 4 on WOW Presents Plus, with RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16 winner Nymphia Wind joining the cast.
