Of all the medical theories and health hacks that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is promoting, this could be the strangest one of all.
Donald Trump's pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services has been seen touting the benefits of a popular fitness toy called the Boxbollen Boxing Ball. Available on sites like Amazon for around $30, the at-home training game involves punching a tiny red ball that's strapped to a thin band worn around your head.
In a video posted to Boxbollen's social media channels, Kennedy can be seen playing the game as friends and family cheer him on. The lawyer and entrepreneur even touts it as an “ideal stocking stuffer.”
In the same video, Kennedy shares that he uses Boxbollen on the road “as often as I can, because it keeps up my hand-eye coordination and it gives me a workout.”
Launched in 2018, Boxbollen has won over a number of celebrity fans, including everyone from MMA star Tyson Fury, to Nicole Scherzinger, and even Bill Gates(!), who have all posted videos of themselves playing the game.
Boxbollen Original Boxing Ball
Boxbollen is a bestseller on Amazon too, with the site reporting more than 100,000 units sold in the last month alone.
Amazon reviewers say the boxing game is easy to learn and an easy way to get in some light cardio for the day. Boxbollen says just a few minutes a day will help improve reflexes, agility, coordination and movement. An accompanying app lets you track your scores and progress. You can even compete with other Boxbollen users from around the world.
As for RFK Jr.? It's not clear if he's an investor in Boxbollen or just a friend of the owners, but his video has racked up a whopping 32 million views on X, and thousands more on YouTube. Boxbollen says Kennedy scored 17 hits in five seconds — the same score as Tom Brady and just one point below Conor McGregor. As the brand touts on its Amazon page, Boxbollen is a great gift idea, “for professional boxers, your six-year-old… and even your grandma and grandpa.”
