After the success of the last edition, the event featuring Marillion is making a stop in Italy: the band that has marked the recent history of progressive rock will perform live at the Gran Teatro Geox in Padua on 9 and 10 May 2025 for Marillion Weekend, two days of events dedicated to “made in England” prog rock, with a busy calendar of meetings.
Support band of the Marillion Weekend will be No Sound on Friday 9 May – a group that creatively combines influences from 70s psychedelia, 80s/90s ambient, soundtracks, alternative and post-rock – and on Saturday 10 May Ranestrane, one of the most active in contemporary Italian prog rock, whose works are all dedicated to and inspired by great arthouse films (“Nosferatu the Vampire” by Werner Herzog, “The Shining” and “2001: A Space Odyssey” by Stanley Kubrick, to name a few) .
Marillion Weekend is now a real brand exported all over the world: in Canada, in Chile, in Holland, in Poland, in Sweden, in Portugal, in Great Britain, just to mention some of the countries in which it has positioned itself and the brand is now known. The absolute protagonist will be the greatest band of the second generation of prog-rock, who will meet fans from all over the world. Two unreleased shows, which have the distinction of being two shows with setlist completely different.
