The new Wednesday in Milan, where music and nightlife come together in a format curated by Redroom's resident trumpet Ludovico Elia, designed for those who live the night with listening. It's Red Live Music Night – December Sessions, which kicks off tomorrow, December 3, with Gianluca Di Ienno's SOUNDSCAPES, a live exploration of texture, rhythm and improvisation.
With collaborations ranging from Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Fabrizio Bosso, Randy Brecker and many others, and performances from Blue Note Milan to the Vortex in London and at the main jazz festivals around the world, Di Ienno brings to the Redroom his project based on synth, bass clarinet (by Federico Calcagno) and drums (by Ale Rossi).
After the concert, the room opens for a late-night jam session led by Elia himself, with free entry and a drink for musicians who bring their own instrument.
The events continue on December 10th with In The Hole Quartet by Claudia Zannoni, Simone Daclon, Daniele Tortora and Matteo Rebulla: from 10pm the quartet will stage its characteristic mix of jazz tradition and intimate and expressive contemporary phrasing. Post live, a free musical dialogue led by Elia in which the room becomes an instrument.
Then on December 17th it will be the turn of the Raffaele Fiengo Quartet with Massimiliano Cameroni, Enrico Palmieri and Antonio Marmora. An evening marked by deep jazz phrasing, contemplative melodies and the raw energy of live improvisation. After the concert, last jam session of the year to carry the spirit of Red Notturna into the new season.
