The Tuscan singer-songwriter, who this year took part as a backing vocalist in the Tour of Willie Peyotewith whom he also duetted in his single “Bloody Marys“, during the day he works as a psychologist, and therefore only has the night to cultivate his passion by writing songs.
“Dip it's a record in which I searched and found myself. Working in a psychiatric clinic, every day I encounter stories at the limit of credibility which, especially at the beginning, destroyed me and then rebuilt me, in a new and more conscious form” tells punches. “Despite attempts to overcome the mental hospital logic, even today the “madman” remains an element to be isolated and locked up, thus losing the possibility of knowing the richness behind the “madness”, the diversity.” concludes the singer-songwriter.
This album was born from the need to Fists to talk about mental health, death, rebirth and love, but not only the magical side, sometimes also discovering the tricks that make the spell vanish.
The basics, taken care of with Kendo And Danny Bronzinistart from a style grunge until reaching influences of brit pop, folk And soultaking inspiration from names like Good Iver, Radiohead, Damien Rice.
The guitar is the protagonist instrument of the album, and mixes with percussion that recalls the tribal world; Pugni's voice, thin and sweet, but also rough and powerful, leaves its mark by acting as a glue with the music.
“Thanks to this album, I had the opportunity to give space to my fragility and fears, giving them back the right to exist as the only way to welcome them. And I understood who I really am when I stopped telling myself what I thought I was.” explains the singer-songwriter.
