Twenty years of awards, stage and Italian music
From 2007 to today, on the stage of Music Awards they took turns over 600 artists and more than were delivered 1,000 awards to records, singles and record-breaking tours. Numbers that tell not only the longevity of the format, but also the strength and vitality of the Italian music industry, capable of reinventing itself and remaining central in the country's cultural panorama.
In twenty years of history, the event has grown with the market, moving from just awards for album sales to certifications FIMI/NIQ for singles, albums and tours. Today all artists who have achieved officially certified results are rewarded: Gold, Platinum and Multiplatinum for albums, Platinum and Multiplatinum for singles, and awards SIAE for live shows with over 100,000 (Gold), 200,000 (Platinum) or 300,000 visitors (Diamond).
Music Awards 2026: two evenings event at the Verona Arena
The two evenings – scheduled for Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September 2026 (show start at 8.30pm) – promise to be a big collective embrace in the symbolic place of the event: the Arena of Verona. For the sixteenth year, the amphitheater will host the celebration of Italian music at a recording level, including great returns, new generations and special prizes.
THE Music Awards remain a unique event on the national and international scene: a format that does not award prizes by jury or vote, but recognizes concrete and certified results. A music festival that, every year, tells the story of the real success of the recording and live sector.
The 2020 edition was unforgettable, in the midst of the pandemic, when the event transformed into a great charity show: no prizes, but music and solidarity in support of workers in the sector.
Since then, the event has returned to its original spirit: uniting artists, audiences and industry in one great celebration. And in 2026, with the twentieth edition, that two-decade long history becomes a true national celebration of Italian music.
