On October 23, the artist released his new single “Unravel”, produced by Jordan Fish (former member of Bring Me The Horizion).
With “Unravel,” Poppy delves into the depths of doubt and introspection, delivering one of the most intense and personal songs of her career. The single marks his first solo release since the acclaimed album Negative Spaces (2024) and follows the powerful collaboration “End Of You” with Courtney LaPlante and Amy Lee, released last month.
In “Unravel”, Poppy fuses pop sensibility and metal aggression in an emotional explosion that highlights her most vulnerable and authentic side. Produced and written together with Jordan Fish, the song recounts the journey of healing from feelings of isolation and insecurity. With a sharp voice and disarming intensity, Poppy faces every imperfect thought, allowing herself to be overwhelmed by a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.
POPPY
An insatiable creative drive has fueled Poppy's surreal rise across countless corners of the art and music worlds. Each of her projects, so far, has revealed a different fragment of a true visionary, indifferent to genres, regardless of conventions and constantly ready to challenge all expectations.
It is precisely this eclecticism that has established Poppy's reputation as an artist capable of breaking down all boundaries, redefining culture at every step.
From provocative conceptual art performer, to video director, to science fiction graphic novel author and world-renowned recording artist — with a repertoire that ranges from metal's fiercest breakdowns to '60s bubblegum pop, from trap-pop to grunge-punk — there's never been anything off limits for Poppy. His artistic vision has always been carried forward with mastery and versatility.
The 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Metal Performance for “BLOODMONEY” marked the first time ever that a solo female artist was nominated in that category. In 2025, Poppy earned her second GRAMMY nomination for Best Metal Performance, thanks to her collaboration with Knocked Loose on the song “Suffocate.”
His uncanny ability to transform like a chameleon kept fans constantly on the edge of their seats, wondering what his next move would be. Yet, every ambitious and surprising twist always retains something unique, unmistakably “Poppy”. The last few years have been memorable: tours with 30 Seconds to Mars, Avenged Sevenfold and Babymetal, and highly successful collaborations with artists such as Bad Omens (“VAN”), Knocked Loose (“Suffocate”) and Babymetal (“from me to u”). And the best is yet to come: the singer-songwriter now prepares to enter a bold new era with the release of her multiversal, full-length fifth album, Negative Spaces. Negative Spaces continues the sonic exploration that began with the diamond-bright industrial anthem “new way out,” released in the spring. In collaboration with producer Jordan Fish (ex-Bring Me the Horizon), Poppy traverses musical landscapes ranging from delicate pop (“yesterday”), to powerful screams (“have you had enough”), up to 80s synthetic retro-futurism (“crystallized”) and energetic pop-punk of the early 2000s (“Negative Spaces”). Most recently, Poppy joined forces with Amy Lee and Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox for the track “End of You.”
This is the exhilarating sound of an ever-evolving artist, redefining her legacy one song at a time — with the knowledge that the truest inspiration still lies on the fringes, in the uncharted territories, hidden among the negative spaces.
