Fifty years after the release of Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, the band released a huge anniversary box set at the beginning of December to celebrate the symbolic album of 1975. And a few days ago a music video of the track that gives the album its title was also released. Between nostalgic shots of the band in the studio, vintage videos of subway rides and whimsical animations of a figure floating in time and space.
The video opens with a sliver of the moon before exploding into chaotic images of sperm racing towards an egg, becoming an eye full of flames and lights hurtling through the darkness, culminating in intimate shots of the band. You can find it here:
Among the rarities of the box set, which we told you about here, there are two versions of Wish You Were Hereincluding a version with David Gilmour on pedal steel guitar and one with a violin solo by jazz virtuoso Stéphane Grappelli.
