Piero Pelù has published a new song entitled SOSa piece born in the jet and recorded in ten hours, which the artist has decided to make free of charge available on his official website. The song is dedicated to the Palestinian people and the Global Sumud Flotilla. In the text Pelù sings: “Now enough! When children do not eat, they don't play, they don't laugh, this is the end of humanity. Peace is the only victory always”.
The Florentine rocker explained that SOS It speaks of the need to remain united against hatred and violence. Pelù also decided to distribute the song independently, without involving the flat streaming flat, especially after the sizes of the singer -songwriter against Spotify, accused by the artist of having ties with “weapons and propaganda of dictators”.
The exit comes while in Italy the mobilization for the Palestinian cause grows. In Rome, tens of thousands of people paraded from Porta San Paolo to San Giovanni with the slogan “Stop to the genocide, Palestine Libera”, while processions to support Gaza have crossed several Italian cities.
For Pelù it is not the first time that music becomes political commitment. In 1999, together with Ligabue and Jovanotti, he published My name is never againsong-manifesto against the war in the Balkans whose revenues were intended for Emergency.
