Two twenty-year-old twins, a penal institution for juveniles (IPM), an imaginary escape to New York. Thus he was born Petite2SHOT's first single, released by CCO Produzioni. The acronym stands for Crisis Come Opportunity, and indicates an association, founded in 2006, which deals with training and awareness workshops for young people and local communities through the use of art in all its forms: theatre, rap, screenplay, photography and cinema. For twenty years CCO has been producing documentaries, publications, video testimonials, theatrical performances, awareness campaigns and training projects working in the suburbs, in juvenile prisons and in schools of our country. The reality was born to guarantee professional, responsible and regulatory-compliant treatment of musical creations generated within the IPM laboratories.
It is within this context that the Permanent Cultural Presidium of the IPM was born, of which it is the result Petite. Currently active in seven IPMs across the country, the Presidium provides workshops for writing and recording rap music songs, theater and screenwriting workshops, which take place on a weekly basis, for twelve months of the year, conducted by qualified trainers and artists. It all started in 2013, in the IPM of Airola, by will of Lucariello, rapper, trainer and CCO member. Today, the other points of activity are the IPMs of Acireale, Casal del Marble (Rome), Catanzaro, Nisida, Quartucciu (CA), Treviso. The project is supported by: Alta Mane Italia Foundation, San Zeno Foundation, Con il Sud Foundation, IP Gruppo api, Studio Tiss, Ministry of Justice.
It's no coincidence that it was Lucariello who accompanied 2SHOT on their debut single. Obtaining a song that talks about escape, about dreams as a destination, but which also tells a story of distance and desire, of imagined departures and identities under construction. New York becomes a symbol of elsewhere, of possibilities, of the future. In the production, signed Oyoshe, Lucariello and Shada San, the voices of the two twins alternate between Italian and Neapolitan dialect, until the entrance of Lucariello, who in the song becomes a bridge between generations and visions.
«CCO Produzioni was born as part of an artistic and educational path that aims to ignite in children an authentic passion for something that has a profound cultural value», explains Lucariello. «Working on music professionally means learning concentration, respect for the creative process and the use of art as a tool to look inside and build meaning. This new production experience is also a reminder of the world of recording, often driven only by the market and numbers: many of the truest emotions instead arise in places of suffering, become shareable and can move the hearts of many, transforming into expression and redemption.”
«Music cured our anger»: this is what 2SHOT, Italian-Cuban twin brothers born in Salerno in 2005, declared. And now, thanks to this story with a happy ending, you can listen to their Petite below:
