After focusing on Joy Division and New Order's Substance on 2024 tour, bassist will revisit “massively underrated” 2021 album
After spending 2024 performing both Joy Division and New Order's Substance live, Peter Hook & The Light will return stateside in 2025 with a new tour focusing on New Order's Get Ready.
The former Joy Division/New Order bassist's tour kicks off May 22 in Montreal and currently runs 13 dates through June 14 in Miami. In addition to playing Get Ready in its entirety, each show will also feature classics from Hook's previous outfits.
“Get Ready was a honeymoon record,” Hook said in a statement of revisiting the 2001 album. “Looking back now it was very enjoyable to make, and I think it is massively underrated. It did sort the wheat from the chaff and led to a New Order mk2, which played better but had lost a naivety whilst gaining a maturity.”
However, Hook noted, issues arose when he and New Order band mate Bernard Sumner tried to capture Get Ready onstage. “Sadly, the old problems recurred when we came to play live. The writing was on the wall from then on,” Hook added.
“The two of us worked very hard to make this a great record and I think we succeeded. I am looking forward to playing all the tracks, many of which have never been played live before. The Light will shine through… Get Ready!”
