It's time for healing. This is written by Etty Lau Farrell, Perry Farrell's wife who, since the Jane's Addiction scandal broke out, has somehow defended his position, trying to tone down the controversy. As is well known, after the singer's outbursts on stage, the band canceled the rest of the reunion tour. Days later, guitarist Dave Navarro made it clear that it is very unlikely that that lineup will ever be seen on stage again.
After thanking the people who have been close to Perry and her in recent days, and who have offered them hospitality, Etty Lau Farrell wrote on Instagram that “kindness begets kindness. As you know, Perry is a kind soul. We too are astonished by Perry's outburst as you are, but you should know that he was pushed to the limit … for which we apologize.”
“We are taking time for ourselves, to reflect and to heal. Perry has already made appointments with an ENT and a neurologist,” his wife wrote, essentially saying that the singer's outburst was due to the fact that in recent concerts he had had problems with his voice and a strong tinnitus. And she added, probably in reference to the rumors that her husband had attacked Navarro because he was drunk: “If you know Perry and love him, you know that there is no need for him to respond to certain other false narratives.”
Perry Farrell will move forward, his wife continues, also thanks to “your love, your kindness, your compassion and your support. He will recover. He will be happy again. He will be able to share his music, his vision and his art again, without any holds back. Know that when he is ready, he will take another great big leap over the obstacles to make us laugh, think and change the world together. And then we can all rejoice together. And know that without you it would not have been possible.”
