Paolo Angeli for about 30 years has been considered a reference figure with musical avant-garde, capable of translating Sardinian music into a contemporary context, post-rock, acquiring growing international notoriety.
That Paolo Angeli has a consolidated career in the United States is already evident by scrolling through the dozens of videos that are on YouTube: a roundup that immortalizes his performances held for US radio broadcasters, primarily the Tiny Desk NPR, and, to follow, those for New Sounds (WNYC) and the live at the Kennedy Center and Sfjazz.
Already in the nineties, the American specialized press enthusiastically welcomed its first albums, while at the beginning of 2000 its performances in the clubs of New York and San Francisco aroused great success for critics and public. A thirty years of course led Paolo Angeli to perform in 2018 at the Carnegie Hall, the temple of international music, and to arrive – with the albums “Jar'a” and “Rade” – to the candidacy for Grammy Awards for two consecutive years.
A long honeymoon that finds yet another confirmation in the imminent American tour that will begin on March 6 in Cleveland and will continue For 14 evenings, touching some of the most important cities in the United States.
During the tour, unpublished songs will also be presented in preview that will find space in the new studio album whose release is scheduled for next May, a sum of the potential of Paolo Angeli's guitar-thechestra, but also a moment in which the Sardinian musician will reiterate the unconventional use of his voice, translated into a dreamlike, material and visionary area.
