From the January 30, 2026 the new album by. is in digital stores Loren. Once upon a time there was the future – this is the title of the album – it is also released on red vinyl, available from February 20, 2026.
The Florentine band, born in 2018releases his third album afterwards Loren And United. In the 2025i Loren they started a new recording journey, with singles Our monsters, Into the void And Cheesy pieces feat. The Welfare State. These songs are now collected in the album Once upon a time there was the future.
The album arrives at a specific stage in life, when you become parents and continue to question yourself about what you have been. Meanwhile, the future stops being a vague promise to become a daily choice. Once upon a time there was the future moves within a present marked by power relations, disillusionment and emotional saturation. In this time, even imagining tomorrow seems like a fragile exercise.
THE Loren they start from this fracture and try to put relationships, minimal gestures, the value of what happens while everything else is at the center. The future is not a utopia to be chased, but something that takes shape in the way we are together.
The album collects common stories, recurring doubts, emotional contradictions. The texts are adherent to everyday life and insist on one point: choosing contact instead of distance, presence instead of posture. This, even when it means exposing yourself, making mistakes, seeming out of time.

On the radio “Pezzi tamarri” feat. The Welfare State
Once upon a time there was the future consists of 9 songs. The disc also contains Cheesy piecessung with The Welfare State. The song, in radio rotation since January 30, 2026opens the album tracklist. The piece talks about love when it stops being a show and becomes a daily exercise in coexistence: embarrassing songs, unlikely clothes, small jealousies, etc.
The song is built on domestic images, affective irony and small shared rituals. It brings into focus the ongoing conflict between being right and staying close, between truly growing and simply changing shape. Self-irony becomes the way to stay together without turning every friction into a clash.
“Better to dance badly together than to be right alone”, he comments Francesco Mucè of the Loren. “Relationships are fragile systems, they are based on minimal gestures and on a balance that can be thrown off by one too many words or the wrong silence. The song chooses to stay within this instability, without judging it”.
The text is signed by Alberto Cazzola And Francesco Mucè. They take turns singing Francesco Mucè for i Loren; And Albi, Carrot And Checco For The Welfare State. The choral collaboration makes the refrain a continuous dialogue between four identities.
