It's official: Oasis have reformed and will play their first concerts since August 2009 in 2025. “The guns are silent,” the Gallagher brothers wrote in their only statement yet about the reunion. “The planets have aligned. The wait is over. Come see us. It won't be on TV.”
After the rumors, yesterday's teaser and the leaks, the announcement arrived a few minutes ago on the group's official account. Liam and Noel Gallagher have reached an agreement and have announced 14 concerts in the United Kingdom and Ireland: July 4 and 5 in Cardiff (Principality Stadium), July 11, 12, 19 and 20 in Manchester (Heaton Park), July 25 and 26 and August 2 and 3 in London (Wembley Stadium), August 8 and 9 in Edinburgh (Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium), August 16 and 17 in Dublin (Croke Park).
Tickets will go on sale from Saturday 31st August at 10am Italian time. They can be purchased from the following sites: Ticketmaster UK (except Irish dates), Gigs and Tour (except Irish dates), SEE Tickets (except Irish dates), Gigs in Scotland (Edinburgh only), Ticketmaster IE (Dublin only). Up to four tickets can be purchased per person. There may be a presalebut has not yet been announced. Resale of tickets is permitted at a price no higher than the price paid.
For now, it is not known the names of the musicians who will accompany the Gallaghers (according to a source consulted by Sun (it would be the High Flying Birds, Noel's band), nor what other dates could be added to those announced. The official website states that the 14 announced will be the only concerts of 2025 in Europe (no Italy therefore), but that there are plans to take the tour to other continents later in the year.
Tickets for Saturday's Click Day are expected to sell out in minutes, similar to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. According to Jonathan Shalit of InterTalent, the reunion could easily net £400 million. “With tickets, sponsorships, merchandise and videos, Noel and Liam could each earn £50 million.”
