A new anthology box, entitled “Night Divides The Day”, will trace the entire history of the Doors. The publication is scheduled for January 2025. The box set will first of all contain a volume created with “unlimited access to the archives” of the Californian band, which will include new interviews with Robby Krieger and John Densmore (the two still living members of the band), plus Archival interviews with Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek. The latter says, among other things: “We were just a group of psychedelic kids trying to spread the word and the feeling of what it meant to get high in Venice in the mid-60s. It was a great feeling watching that sun set in the middle of the ocean, feeling that peace and feeling one with the universe.” The book – available only in a special box set limited to 2000 numbered copies – also features contributions from pop-rock artists such as Van Morrison, Mark Volman of the Turtles, Slash, Nile Rodgers, Nancy Sinatra and Jim Kerr of Simple Minds, as well as Unpublished photos, song lyrics, posters and unpublished covers of The Doors' records. The preface was entrusted to Krist Novoselic, bassist of Nirvana, while the afterword bears the illustrious signature of Gustavo Dudamel, conductor and current musical and artistic director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
