The Roman rock band returns to the musical scenes with a new name that reveals the acronym NDM used in previous works, relying again New world disorderand with the “Daimon” album that directs the sound and the intention of the trio very well.
Assisted by Giulio Ragno Fabulous (Theater of the horrors) which in addition to the production also signs in part all the songs of the disc, “Daimon” is a real fist in the stomach on a textual level where since the initial “cese” (in guest with Luca Romagnoli Management) a strong social criticism of Tutotondo (“melody of industries that pour in the sea / the comfort of western society”) on a dark and redundant electronic base.
The texts are the strong point of the album, between esotericism or biblical quotes (“I want to burn every sacred theater” sings Aldo Onorivoice and pen of the band, in “genesis”) guided by a taste for horror, toxic or subtle blasphemy (God/religion seems one of the first defendants of many atavistic fears of man). And it is precisely the fear that occurs in the title track (the inner demon) or in “Why are you not afraid?” arm in arm with the similarity between man and animal (are we just so different?). Messages that lead to a profound reflection on the existence of all of us knowing that then we will all return “stars dust”. The declamations to the Massimo Volume They are underlined from the darkness of the sound to the Nine Inch Nails where the battery of Giulio Colletti and the thrusting guitars of Giulio Scipioni who complete the trio with honors under the voice stand out.
The result is a rock that does not leave indifferent and that makes “Daimon” a gem in its artistic complex also given the magnificent “tarot” style graphics by Lorenzo De Luca who embellish the vinyl object that the VREC has chosen to distribute in addition to the classic digital stores.
