Apple‘s WWDC conference was one of small upgrades rather than big leaps, with a few new AI features and a focus on its refreshed design language. Dubbed “Liquid Glass,” the design will be uniform across Apple’s devices, including the MacBook, iPad, Apple Watch, and iPhone.
Liquid Glass borrows from the clean aesthetic found on the Vision Pro, and features translucent buttons, text, icons, and more. It’s supposed to “behave like glass in the real world,” according to Apple, dynamically adjusting to the background and themes for a smooth, fluid feeling. Apple redesigned many of its core apps to match the new aesthetic.
In addition to the new aesthetic, Apple announced some new AI features. Apple will allow third-party apps to leverage Apple Intelligence, bring AI features to other apps. New AI features include Live Translation and a Workout Buddy for the Apple Watch. Additionally, a visual search feature, similar to Google’s Circle to Search, will enable users to identify objects they see on their screen.
The iPad is also getting an upgrade, with movable windows for easier switching between apps, adding more computer-like features to the tablet.
Apple will also change the naming scheme of iOS. Instead of iOS 19, iOS 18 will be followed by iOS 26, with Apple adopting a naming scheme tied to the fiscal year.
There are also new features coming to AirPods, including “studio-quality audio recording.” Apple explained that “Interviewers, podcasters, singers, and other creators can record their content with greater sound quality, and even record while on the go or in noisy environments with Voice Isolation.”
There’s also a new camera shutter function, allowing users to remotely take photos or videos by pressing the stem or the AirPods. The features are rolling out to both versions of the AirPods 4 and the AirPods Pro 2.
Amid the new announcements, there are some deals on Apple products, which you can check out below.
