New information about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ alleged arson attack on Kid Cudi‘s car has been revealed in a newly-unearthed Los Angeles City Fire Department report.
The first details emerged in November last year when Cassie – real name Cassandra Ventura – filed a lawsuit alleging that Combs had raped her and subjected her to countless acts of sexual, physical, emotional and mental abuse, some of which included her allegedly being forced to have sex with male prostitutes while Combs filmed the acts.
During their rocky relationship, Cassie would date rapper Kid Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, for a brief stint in 2012, which reportedly angered Combs. Per the lawsuit, Combs made the threat that he would blow up Kid Cudi’s car to send him a message. “Around that time, Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway,” the lawsuit claimed.
This claim was confirmed by Kid Cudi who, via a spokeswoman, said: “This is all true.”
Now, a report obtained by Rolling Stone reveals that Kid Cudi was the owner of a Porsche that was set on fire by an “incendiary device” on January 9, 2012 at a Los Angeles address connected to Mescudi through public records. The cause of the fire was listed as “intentional”.
According to the document, the fire was first reported at 10:53am, and caused an estimated $10,000 worth of damage. No suspects are mentioned in the report.
It follows further details of the alleged arson being revealed by prosecutors last week in court filings opposing Diddy’s release on bail. In a letter to the court on September 17, they alleged that co-conspirators acting on behalf of the rapper set fire to an unidentified person’s vehicle by “slicing open the car’s convertible top and dropping a Molotov cocktail inside” in early January 2012. They went on to say that “multiple witnesses” would testify about Diddy allegedly “bragging about his role in destroying Individual-1’s car,” per Rolling Stone.
Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo told the publication: “There is no allegation that Mr. Combs was involved in these actions or directed anyone else to take them. It’s clear the government doesn’t know who set fire to the vehicle or how it relates to Mr Combs, who denies any involvement.”
Kid Cudi has not commented further on the alleged attack.
The rap mogul was arrested in New York last week and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting for prostitution. If convicted, he could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life. Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Diddy has been denied bail and was reportedly placed on suicide watch as he awaits trial. Agnifilo told TMZ that the suicide watch directive was issued as a routine measure for “new, high-profile inmates”. The latest reports suggest he is not eating in prison out of fear of being poisoned.
The charges follow a wave of accusations and lawsuits against Combs, beginning with Cassie’s lawsuit last year. Diddy denied the claims before the pair settled the lawsuit “to mutual satisfaction” a day after it was filed. Footage of Combs’ attack on Cassie was later released to the public in May, and Diddy issued an apology for his actions at the time.
A week after Ventura’s original lawsuit filed in November last year, two new allegations were made against Diddy; one woman claimed Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her and the other alleged that Combs and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall took turns raping the plaintiff and her friend in 1990 or 1991 – adding that Diddy turned violent days later. Diddy went online to deny all allegations against him, but Hall hasn’t replied to the accusations.
Earlier this year, producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones sued Combs alleging he sexually assaulted him, had parties where sex workers and underage girls were present, and coerced him to sleep with prostitutes. Diddy replied, saying Jones’ claims were “pure fiction”.
On May 22, he was accused of drugging and assaulting Crystal McKinney, a former model. McKinney accused him of assaulting her at a Men’s Fashion Week event in 2003 by giving her a “powerful” joint and then assaulting her in a bathroom. Diddy did not respond for comment.
A former porn actress also came forward on July 4 to accuse the rapper of sex trafficking. Diddy’s lawyer has denied the claims, maintaining that “Mr Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone.”
Earlier this week, another woman came forward to allege that Diddy and his bodyguard drugged, raped her and filmed the incident in 2001.
The latest alleged victim, Thalia Graves, claims in a suit filed in a New York court on September 24 that Combs and his associate Joseph Sherman drugged her, sexually assaulted her and filmed it without consent, per Variety.
Diddy continues to deny any wrongdoing.
