Recently, Neil Young celebrated 50 years of his landmark 1974 album “On The Beach” with a limited edition vinyl reissue, out November 8th.
The album will be available exclusively on clear vinyl and will be available for purchase at the Greedy Hand Store in Neil Young Archives, as well as standard music retailers. All purchases made at the Greedy Hands Store will also include high-resolution digital downloads of the album's eight tracks. Preorder is already active on this page.
“On The Beach” was the highly anticipated follow-up to one of Neil Young's most beloved albums, “Harvest” (1972) and is considered the second chapter of his “Ditch Trilogy”. The album includes contributions from Rick Danko and Levon Helm of The Band, his associates Graham Nash and David Crosby (CSN&Y), as well as Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina of Crazy Horse.
“On The Beach” is not the only vinyl reissue that Neil Young has made in 2024. The Canadian Loner has in fact released vinyl reissues of four of his classic albums: “Freedom”, “Ragged Glory – Smell The Horse”, “Weld” and “Arc”.
Neil Young also addressed the recent cancellation of his tour, apologizing to fans who had purchased tickets and explaining that illness and fatigue were taking a toll on his band members, including himself. “My body was telling me, 'You have to stop.' And so I listened to my body,” explained the Canadian artist.
