Natalia Lafourcade Has a New Alter Ego, and She's Ready to Share It. On Tuesday, The Mexican Musician Novenced Her Upcoming Album, Titled The cancionraWhich She Recorded in One Take On Analog Tape.
Lafourcade AnnoUunded the Record, produced by Adan Jodorowsky, with a short trailer of featuring in retro performance of Her Songs in Front of A Theater Curtain, Acting Out Shakespearean Scenes, and Strumming Her Guitar Accompanied by An Orchestra.
The album is set to Explore Both Tradition and the Contemporary, Returning to “The Intimacy of Her Voice and Guitar,” According to a press release. She'll Also Feature Hermanos Gutiérrez, El David Aguilar, Israel Fernandez, Diego del Morao, Gordon Hamilton, and Soundwalk Collective on the record.
The album Will Feature Original Songs, Including Title Track “Cancionera,” Along With “Reinterpressions of Traditional Mexican Music” While Taking Direct Inspiration from Her Home State of Veracruz. “The veracruz culture has deeplic influenced the way i undertand music,” Natalia Says of the album. “In this new album, that influence manifests in the rhythms and the poetics of its lyrics.”
The cancionra Continues The Singer's Artistic Partnership with Jodorowsky, Who Also Produced Her Grammy-Winning De Todas Las Flores. “If We Recorded Natalia and Started Editing Her Takes in Search of Some Elusive Sense of Perfecto, then the Music would Lose Its Soul,” He Previusly Told Rolling Stone. “On This Record, We Went Even Further Than in De Todas Las Flores. We Had 18 Musicians Playing Together With Natalia in a live setting. There are no tricks, no accounts of any kind. ”
She's set to bring the album on the road with a show that will feature new arrangements to match the lp. She'L Open Her Run With Concerts Across Mexico, Before Visiting Opera Houses and Theaterrs Across the United States Throughout The Summer and Into The Fall.
