Napoleon – Jolie: meaning of the song
With Jolie, Napoleon He returns to tell a love story between alleys of Naples and dreams projected towards France. An intense, melancholy, complicated relationship made of sudden departures, returns that do not arrive and messages never read.
A song that alternates sweetness and disenchantment, between stratified sounds and a narration poised between poetry and rawness. The song opens with verses in Neapolitan:
“But it is simply history Jolie,
me feel 'o fridd' nguoll 'though' ij,
Je t'aime but nun 'stamm' a paris,
Welcome to Napoli, yes to my life“
A tribute to the language of emotions and the city that remains always present, even in the most distant links. With its increasingly international style, Napoleon signs an urban pop ballad that mixes melancholy and modernity, remembering that certain stories, even when they end, continue to live in it.
