Shaped by the sounds of art-punk and strongly influenced by the industrial environment of the suburbs of Mexico City, the Mengers' sound refers to the performance of Fall, Can and Stooges, as well as new genre heroes such as Black Midi or Gilla Band. The power trio will present live in Italy the debut “GOLLY” (2021) and its successor “i/O” (2022), on which he worked together with Hugo Quezada (Exploded View), this week with four dates. The group and Quezada also released an album together entitled “Vs”: limited to 300 copies on vinyl, it will be promoted and sold exclusively during the tours European Union in progress. After being in tour in the United States in late 2023, Mengers began 2024 by playing the Pitchfork Festival, which had its first edition in Mexico City, sharing the bill with artists like King Krule, Protomartyr and more.
