Memento is a young songwriter who writes delicate and introspective songs, one of the most interesting musicians of the new Milanese scene. After the debut EP Memento is not afraid of the darkin collaboration with Rodrigo D’Erasmo, on July 8th he returned with two singles, Ocean And Viper. They are two twin songs that talk about loneliness, changes and «complex bonds from which it is difficult to get away». He presents them like this: “Ocean And Viper they are two roads that divide and meet again. Ocean it is fear of being alone, of sleeping in an empty bed. Viper it’s a snake shedding, and I cling to its skin. Music alone can be an outlet, music together can be a treasure. These songs are proof of that.”
Given the theme of Viper, we asked Memento to tell us about the musical universe of his new songs in a change-themed playlist. It’s a particular selection, 10 songs ranging from the itpop of the Cani to the new jazz of Thundercat, passing through the rap of Tyler, The Creator and also Fabio Concato.
