The first, announced and highly anticipated, is Gospel Housethe first album as a duo by the Mattei brothers, that is thasup And Mara Sattei. The second, which arrived as a surprise and without any particular marketing strategies, is Peace is overthe album with which Marracash concludes the trilogy begun with Person. But which of the two records got the better of Spotify at the debut? Let's find out together…
MARRACASH and the thasup couple Mara Sattei, the numbers debuting on Spotify
Let's start from Gospel Housean 8-track album that, on its debut day, racked up more than that 2,200,000 listen on Spotifywith all the tracks present in the Top 40 of the platform. Among the songs on the album, the highest entry was that of the first single released, My placewhich debuts at number 17 with 356,314 stream.
The success of the 13 tracks contained in is decidedly greater Peace is over Of Marracash. Despite the surprise release and the absence of featuring – a true anomaly for a rap album today – the album ranks sixth among the best debuts on Spotify of 2024, totaling over 8,100,000 listen.
All tracks from the album entered the Top 20 of Spotify Italywith the song Power Slap which directly conquers the number 1 position thanks to almost one million listeners (964,445).
Speaking of individual songs, Power Slap it also ranks fourth among the best debuts of the year, behind 100 messages Of Lazza (almost 1,900,000 streams), Eve Of Kid Yugi with Tedua And The last poem Of Geolier & Last.
In both cases we are obviously faced with two excellent rap/urban album debuts. One for Epic Records/Sony Music (the album by thasup & Mara Sattei), the other of Island Records/Universal Music (Marracash).
