A sudden stop interrupted the Alice in Chains tour: the Grunge group of Seattle announced the cancellation of the entire spring tour in the United States, including the highly anticipated performances at Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville festivals. The decision came after the cancellation of the inaugural appointment scheduled for Thursday 8 May at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, in Connecticut, due to a healthy health problem of the drummer Sean Kinney. Shortly after finishing the soundcheck, Kinney had an illness defined as a “non -lethal medical emergency”. The clinical details were not made public, but the situation forced the band to stop completely.
In a press release released yesterday and also reported by the consequent magazine, the Alice in Chains clarified the reasons for the decision: “After carefully evaluating the situation and on the advice of the doctors, we chose to erase all the next dates, both in the festivals and as headliner. We would have liked to be on stage with you, but Sean's health comes first of all. Even if it requires immediate intervention, the prognosis is positive. We sincerely thank you for the affection and understanding you are showing us “.
The tour should have marked the live return of the historic American band, with a compact but significant calendar. Now, however, all the stages planned have been canceled and the unknown on the possible participation of the group in the Black Sabbath's farewell concert, scheduled for July 5 in Birmingham.
