The Locomotive Jazz Festival is back, one of the most anticipated musical events of the Apulian summer, which for its twentieth edition confirms its spirit: to unite the music to discover an authentic Salento, far from the most beaten tourist routes. The Festival, conceived and directed by Raffaele Casarano, offers a musical journey to enhance villages, archaeological areas and natural landscapes through sunset concerts, walks, guided tours and local tastings.
The philosophy of the festival has been the same for twenty years: listening to music slowly (which means attention here), living the places and rediscovering them through performances designed as original soundtracks for each location. Each concert becomes so unique and unrepeatable, tailored to the natural, historical or urban context that hosts it.
The widespread program crosses the whole of Salento, with events taking place at sunset – the locomotive sunsets – and culminate in the traditional appointment with the locomotive dawn on the night between 21 and 22 August on the beach of San Cataldo. From 1 to 8 July, the Festival will touch suggestive stages such as Corigliano d'Otranto, Acaya, Melendugno, Leverano, Gagliano del Capo, Giurdignano, Brindisi and Marina di San Gregorio. Each day includes a guided walk to discover the territory, followed by concerts by national and international artists and tastings of typical local products. Among the names on the bill: Naomi Berrill, Mario Rosini, Giovanni Guidi, Alessandro D'Alessandro, Peppe Servillo, Bungaro, Folcast and Nabil Bey. On July 27 in Sogliano Cavour, a large closing party will animate the historic center with band music, special guests and a DJ set by Populous.
The Locomotive Jazz Festival confirms its attention to the social thanks to the partnerships with doctors without borders and the Splendor Fidei Foundation, with which it shares the commitment for solidarity and inclusive cultural promotion. Part of the proceeds from dawn will be donated to the pediatric oncohematology department of the Vito Fazzi hospital in Lecce. The sunsets, on the other hand, are free.
The Locomotive Jazz Festival 2025 is confirmed, also for this edition, not only a musical event, but a community experience, discovery and sharing, capable of intertwining culture, territory and social commitment. Prepare comfortable clothing, trekking and plaid shoes or cushions to sit, it's time to leave.
