Anticipated by the individual Naked and created with the support of MIC and of SIAE within the program For Those Who Create, My love is the new album – his first solo – by Lorenzo Cantariniout Friday 30 January for Courage Live / ADA Music – Warner Music Italy.
The album demonstrates that audacity and serenity can coexist, as well as lucidity and abandonment, strength and fragility, desire and fear. The title, My lovedoes not in fact mean “My love“, rather “my love“, “my way of feeling“And it is precisely in this sense that he claims a authentic, imperfect and alive emotional subjectivity: a love that does not ask to be idealized, but crossed.
The album thus tells the artist's relationship with his own emotions and does so through three declinations: romantic love, self-love And the love for the sea and nature. Three forces that never really separate, but intertwine in a continuous and often contradictory way, giving life to an intimate story made up of leaps, falls and returns.
LORENZO CANTARINI TELLS “MI AMOR”
“Making this record helped shed light on the man I am todaywithout claiming to define myself, but only to understand me“, tells Lorenzo Cantarini about the genesis of My love.
Then he adds: “I feel a deep sense of pride in the unexpected ability I had to be honest. Regardless of what the path of the album will be, I know that it is true, authentic, in every correct phrase and in every flaw. I'm grateful because every single person who worked at My love it helped me to be Lorenzo“.

“Daniele Palano and all the staff of Courage Live they believed deeply in this project and together we wanted to see the light of it. Emanuele Nazzaro he's on the record as much as I am: we're a family. He is a person from whom I cannot hide. With his grace and sensitivity, he has always managed to enhance all my musical ideas, transforming many doubts into turning points and understanding me before I even did.
Max And Peterwith whom I worked on two songs, were the unexpected last-minute gift: profoundly kind and intelligent men, sublime musicians. We saw each other deeply and they contributed definitively to the making of the album. Nothing is done alone, or only for oneself. Today the universe has a new scent and, thanks to My loveI think I'm a better man.”

“My love it has grown over time together with the friendship between me and Lorenzino, who is now like a brother to me. Producing it was an attempt to give shape and amplify his thoughts, his passion, his suffering and his world of nature, sea and timeless values.
I tried to represent it in an intimate, true, warm and “rural” way, but at the same time ethereal, suspended and dreamy, between the clouds and the stars, placing it in a sound world that draws from both Italian songwriting (Tenco, Battisti, Dalla, etc.) and international songwriting (Bon Iver, Damien Rice, Billie Eilish, etc.)”.
“MI AMOR”: DESIRE, THE END AND… THE SEA
My love observes the attempt, often imperfect, to live up to what one feels, without idealizations or defenses, accepting the risk of losing oneself in order to truly feel.
In fact, on the record The wish is explored as a unstable territorysuspended between reality and imagination, between past and present. It is something that tends towards immensity but which, precisely for this reason, exposes us to fragility.
And, precisely in this regard, in My love a reflection emerges on the moment in which love it stops elevating, becoming rather a dysfunctional refuge. Cantarini thus tells of the moment in which the ego, incapable of supporting its own vulnerability, gives in to narcissistic dynamics, which transform the feeling of possession, confusion and dependence, leading to an internal fracture.
The endhowever, in this album it is never seen as a vindication or a defeat, but rather as a necessary step to really look at oneself and recognize that love, like life, only exists in the present.
And that's where it comes in the sea: a place of calm and vertigo, of immersion and freediving, in which identity dissolves and recomposes. This is not, however, a simple scenario. The sea is in fact – in Cantarini's vision – a primary emotional forcecapable of bringing the body and senses back to a state of purity, which rejects any superstructure or artifice.
