Neil Young continues to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the contemporary music scene. On April 25th he will see the publication of “Heart of Gold”, a tribute album that brings together an exceptional cast to reinterpret some of his most iconic songs. After the version of “Fight Love” entrusted to Courtney Barnett and “Southern Man” Rinette by Chris Pierce, a live reinterpretation of “The Needle and the Damage Done” is now available to be available Eddie Vedder.
The project boasts a tracklist full of leading names, including Fiona Apple, Brandi Carlile, Mumford & Sons, Sharon Van Etten and Lumineers. A tribute that goes beyond the musical dimension: the proceeds of the album will in fact be intended for Bridge School, an institution founded by the deceased wife of Young, Pegi, to support children with serious physical disabilities and difficulties in language.
