“Glass“, released last year October 25, 2024is a fundamental piece of alternative pop by LAISONin this song totally immersed in an alt-rock environment.
LAISON he lays himself bare by talking about vulnerability and the struggle to absorb the speed of the world, which leads us to remain stuck in our patterns and fears. Often seeing what surrounds us only makes us more fragile and somehow impatient in remaining stuck at the same points, compared to a world that is constantly on the rise. “Glass” shows all this, making us realize how difficult it is to exist without really living.
To get to know her better, we couldn't help but ask her her five favorite songs.
Big Black Delta – Huggin & Kissin
I discovered “Huggin & Kissin” while watching a TV series, “The Sinner”. The song had an almost protagonist role in the story, and so I delved into the Big Black Delta project. When I listen to this album, and this song in particular, I always think “I would like to make a song that has this sound”. Who knows, maybe in the future…
Nine inch Nails – Everyday Is exactly the same
Trent Reznor is a huge inspiration when it comes to writing and producing my songs. This song has always had a great effect on me, with these lyrics that very well encapsulate that feeling of inadequacy and desperation during times when you feel locked in the same endless day.
Spiritbox – Hysteria
As a singer, I have always loved the different mechanisms of the voice, especially the supraglottic ones. The power that a Scream can evoke, the depth of the growl in the Metal genre are techniques that fascinate me greatly and have been part of my musical listening since adolescence. Spiritbox are one of my favorite bands at the moment, and this song captivates me every time.
Kimbra – Love in High Places
Kimbra revolutionized the way I experience the stage. She is an artist who always plays a lot with the instruments at her disposal: multi-effects pedals for vocals, synthesizers, guitars and obviously her own voice. This song, which I love madly, has an arrangement that I would define as ethereal and floating (perfect for talking about love).
Amy Winehouse – Wake up Alone
I can't help but mention the great Amy Winehouse. I think I love all the songs from his too-short career. Songs full of frankness, suffering and (often tormented) love. Perhaps one of the truest voices I've ever heard.
