To celebrate the 4th of July Kendrick Lamar has released the music video for Not Like Ushis most famous (among the various) diss track to Drake.
The video features a number of cameos, including one from Tommy the Clown, who was at Lamar's recent Pop Out concert in Inglewood. The video was a chance for the Compton rapper to celebrate his hometown, dancing with DJ Mustard (who not surprisingly wears a Toronto Blue Jay baseball cap) and gathering fans at local venues like City Hall and Tam's Burgers. The video also features Lamar's girlfriend Whitney Alford and the rapper's two children.
In a clear reference to Drake and his OVO, the video is full of owls. There is, for example, an owl-shaped piñata that Lamar repeatedly hits in one scene while the disclaimer appears: “No OVHoes were harmed in the filming of this video.” Later in the video, Lamar comes face to face with a real owl that we will later find locked in a cage.
The video was reportedly shot a few days after Lamar's Juneteenth concert, where the rapper performed the song five times in a row. “We ain't gonna let nobody disrespect the West Coast, right?” Lamar asked from the stage before performing the track over and over again to the growing excitement of the crowd.
