The song by Rosemary Clooney appeared in the 1954 film ‘White Christmas’
While Thanksgiving is still a few weeks ahead, Kelly Clarkson delivered some holiday tunes to the Kellyoke stage on Friday. Singing “Love, You Didn’t Do Right By Me,” the host paid tribute to Rosemary Clooney, who sang the song in the 1954 film White Christmas.
“My one love affair didn’t get anywhere from the start/To send me a Joe who had winter and snow in his heart wasn’t smart,” sings Clarkson in the rendition. “Love You didn’t do right by me As they say in the song, you done me wrong.”
Last month, the singer poured out her own take on Olivia Rodrigo‘s single, “Vampire.” Speaking with Rolling Stone in June, the Guts singer shared some insight behind the track: “I think it reflects the journey that I was going through and the anger that gets pent up in an experience like the one that the song’s about.”
When The Kelly Clarkson Show returned in October, the multitalented host launched the fifth season with a cover of Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter” — the 2002 hit song from the “Beautiful” singer’s fourth studio album, Stripped.
That same month, Clarkson shared in an interview with USA Today that she discussed leaving The Voice after nine seasons amid personal struggles. “Full disclosure, I put on a smile a lot of those times because I was struggling a lot in my personal life,” Clarkson said. “I’ve learned a lot about what I’m capable of handling and also what you should not handle. That was me saying ‘bye’ to The Voice and having this big move.”
