The duo performed the Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper duet at Kansas City’s Thundergong
Jason Sudeikis reunited with his Ted Lasso co-star Hannah Waddingham over the weekend for a memorable rendition of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s duet, “Shallow.”
Taking the stage with Wille Forte on Saturday, Sudeikis’ announced the surprise performance during his annual Thundergong! charity show in Kansas City, Missouri. “There is nobody I would rather sing this song with,” Sudeikis said to his former Saturday Night Live colleague, before Waddingham took over to sing the song’s second verse as Forte was unceremoniously ushered off-stage.
According to KMBC, Thundergong! raised over $800,000 for Steps of Faith, a foundation that helps uninsured and underinsured amputees get the prosthetic limbs they need. Along with Forte and Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Sam Richardson, and Summer Breeze also joined Sudeikis in his hometown for the charity benefit show.
Lady Gaga wrote “Shallow” with Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and Anthony Rossomando, and co-produced the track with Benjamin Rice. She performed the song with Bradley Cooper for 2018’s A Star Is Born, and the pair later showcased the duet live at the Oscars in 2019, where the ballad was awarded Best Original Song.
Last month, Gaga joined U2 during their performance at the Sphere in Las Vegas for the group’s rendition of “Shallow,” sharing vocals with Bono.
